Strange Bird Flight of 3 Wine & Cheese Experience
Sit back amongst the vines at a table set especially for you with some of our strange birds. Indulge a flight of three wines paired with local cheese and condiments from the region.
The Granite Belt has a growing reputation as one of Australia’s top producers of alternative variety wines- known here as ‘strange birds.’
Jointly founded by our winemaker Pete McGlashan one Sunday afternoon over a beer, these alternate varieties are now celebrated across the region via a trail aptly named the 'strange bird alternative wine trail.' At ridgemill estate, you’ll discover Saperavi, Tempranillo , Viognier and Verdelho.

At ridgemill estate, we lovingly tend to our vineyard and wines by hand, from picking to bottling. Our wines seldom leave our care until it is time to pass them on to you.
Our vineyard sits some 840 metres above sea level and enjoys an ideal climate for growing premium wine with a terroir similar to the Rioja region of northern Spain.
Journey through our grape to glass cycle. Learn about the coarse, free-draining, granitic soils that bring the unique character and inherent qualities to our wines.Â

Winemaker's Tasting Experience
Enjoy a special wine tasting experience with our winemaker/s. Learn about the history of the estate and the unique characteristics of the Granite Belt wine producing region.
You will hear about the key characteristics, what were the vintage experiences in the making and the suggestions for longevity for each of the wines.
Enjoy this exclusive wine tasting experience in the contemporary styled cellar door overlooking the vineyard and beautiful Severn Valley.
The tastings will include the estate's premium wines, back vintages, and barrel tastings or tank samples.

Picnic Play-Day!
Sneak away to a sleepy country lane in the beautiful Severn River Valley and enjoy a picnic play - day experience on our village green at ridgemill estate.
Arrive @ ridgemill estate to begin your day. We’ll show you to our bikes and wave you off to feel the wind against your face as you slide into a slower pace of life.
Find a special spot to settle in with your picnic hamper and let the games begin – giant jenga or kubb is calling you!
Complete the experience with a take home bottle of ridgemill estate wine and hamper of regional produce.
