A dedicated focus on quality and customer service has delivered some big wins recently for local business Ridgemill Estate. A leader in the local Granite Belt winery and accommodation sector, Ridgemill Estate is thrilled that their efforts are paying off.
Ridgemill Estate won the Biz IT Best Queensland Red in Show trophy for their 2017 The Lincoln Shiraz at the Cairns Wine Show, and a Silver medal for their 2017 Merlot. The Cairns Wine Show took place on 12-15 June, is a nationally recognised industry event, and attracts a high calibre of judges and wines.
Ridgemill’s winemaker Peter McGlashan was delighted with the Cairns award and provided the following comment: “Ridgemill Estate honours the youngest members of the owners’ family by naming special wines created in their namesake. Each wine named after a grandchild has a unique label which represents their personality. The winning Lincoln Shiraz wine is named after their second eldest grandson Lincoln. Lending his name to our beautiful Syrah style red wine, The Lincoln is co-fermented with whole bunches of 3% viognier and 20% shiraz grapes, creating an elegant medium bodied wine with firm structure suitable for longevity.”
Martin Cooper, owner of Ridgemill Estate says, “This is big news for us. Our recent award wins at the Cairns Wine Show reflect the concerted efforts and hard work of our team. It’s also great for our region, as wins like this bring attention to the Granite Belt, and the growing quality of exceptional wines and experiences on offer here.”
In more good news, Ridgemill Estate has just been listed as one of six great wineries to visit across Australia by notable German glassware company Riedel. Ridgemill has been listed along with the likes of Henschke and St Hugo in South Australia, focusing on wineries providing stunning vineyards, delicious wines, and picturesque scenery.
Happy customers have also put Ridgemill Estate in the winners’ spotlight – acknowledged as a “Best of Queensland” experience with a score of 100% for both the winery and accommodation! This result places the business in with the top scoring tourism experiences across the State, as recognised by Tourism and Events Queensland.
“We are honoured that our guests and visitors have had a great experience at our property and have shared their positive experiences online. Our whole team is proud to have achieved this score – which highlights our consistent delivery of high-quality customer service and experience,” said Mr Cooper.
“This a great result for us. Along with our other recent wins it shows that we are doing things right.”
To gain the 100% score, Ridgemill Estate was benchmarked and assessed on a number of consumer-driven criteria across more than 175 global platforms, including TripAdvisor, Google, Booking.com and CTrip. Online reviews by customers are a key component of the score achieved.
Ridgemill Estate has plans to further enhance their customer experience and focus on quality. Plans include regular events at the property, to develop a purpose-built event venue, and to continually implement sustainable practices that reduce environmental impacts.
